Konfigurasi Modem di Linux Ubuntu

Pada umumnya Sistem operasi Linux secara default menginstal driver saat instalasi OS. Termasuk ath0 (Atheros) untuk bisa terhubung ke Network, baik itu Wired, Wireless, maupun koneksi Modem. Tetapi pada beberapa distro misalnya Debian - pada hal ini saya pakai Linux Mint dan Ubuntu - belum bisa mengkoneksikan Modem ke network di Operating System ini. Untuk itu, kita perlu mengkonfigurasinya. Nah, tidak perlu banyak celoteh langsung saja checkidot :

1. Pertama masuk ke terminal (CTRL+ALT+T)
2. ketikkan $su - kemudian beri password kamu
3. ketikkan #lsmod | grep usb_storage (memastikan kalo USB storage kedetect ame System)
4. ketikkan #rmmod usb-storage (remove module usb storage)
5. kemudian check dimana Modem kamu disimpan pada sistem dengan mengetik #lsusb. Akan ada pesan tertera setelah anda mengetikkan perintah tersebut, merupakan informasi dari Modem kamu ex: pada Modem Huaweei E1550 pesannya seperti ini; Bus 001 Device 003: ID 12d1:1001, perhatikan yang bercetak tebal di atas. Itu merupahan informasi dari nama Vendor dan Product Modem kamu.
6. ketikkan # modprobe usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1001 . Sesuaikan ID Vendor dan Product sesuai Modem kamu
7. Terakhir cabut modem kamu dan setelah beberapa saat colokkan kembali
8. Ketikkan $ls -la /dev/ttyU* dan akan muncul pesan bahwa Modem anda sudah cennect.
